People who float through an existence seeking out all of the comforts only to get a sensation that can only be described as plain, boring, hopeless,

Why is it that when we are faced with death we finaly start living,

Why do I hold on to al of the securities and fail to see the greater meanign behind the facade of the norm,

Why do i strive for somehthing, only to want more once achived,

Would pain allow me to enjoy,

would loss teach me about what i have,

Americans have so much, but isn’t it true that in our abundance we have very little?

What The Heck

Its been a very long time since i have posted in on this blog, mostly becasue i havn’t had much to say, and i have been on and off with computers. But I wanted to get some junk out so here is a post, not that anyone is actually reading this.

I sit in my small room listening in on the conversations being had in my living room. There is a little anti-Obama rally goign on and i find it funny. When i listen to what they have to say i have a hard time not laughing. It is so funny to hear the jumps in logic people will make to convince themselves that something is not good, or somethign is evil. One of the big issues they had was that people in the inaguration where quoting republican people of the past, and that was apperantly stupid. You can see through this statment that the main reason they don’t want  Obama president is due to his party affiliation rather than what he stands for. This is dangerouse when the lines between the parties are starting to blend. The reason why i switche dmy voting party this year is becasause my views aligned much more closely with Obama than McCain. All that to say they are using odd ofrms of logic to conclude that Obama is an evil socialist who is gogin to be hte end of america, becasue some old democrate was responisbble for the KKK.

I like what Obama said in response to haveing a gay pastor speak at his inaguration and in defense to having rick warren pray at his …can’t find the word, but his winning’s! He said we need to disagree without being disagreable. I couldn’t have said it better. Lately i have been realy thinking about htis topic of christians doign ministry together, without letting our disagreaments get in the way. servingn without being disagreable. I tend to find myself in interesting situations, and this weekend was no different. I found myself in the home of a conservative christian pastor. He was talking to my friend Evan and I about different stances he has made in realtion to the topics of..you guessed it… drugs and alcohal. Anyways I listened and took in his points and didnt try to start a fight with him about his logic, even though i disagree. I truly respect him for the positions he has taken on certain issues. I coudl definatly do ministry along side him, even though i do not agree with his stance. Why should a simple disagreement stop us from sharing a message of Love and Peace. Should we only share it with certian people who will align with our views?

I am going to coin a phrase.

There is no Right or Rong, there is only love or loveless.

Are we lovign more with our acctions

Do we increase the amount of love for someone else.

Are we the love the world needs.

Do we need to be a christian to Love?

Lets bring it to the two greatest commandments Love the lord your God, and love your neighbo

This is a command we can all fullfil no matter what stance! or religion! If Jesus is the truth he says he is, than i can only pray there path of love leads to that truth!

To taste, to touch, to feel…

The thing that church lacks is the ability to tast, touch, and feel the wordl around it. It is a numb extention to society. I am its viagra! giddy up!

New Comp!

Finally I was able to get a computer. My parents floated me some cash to make the big purchase. The computer i went with is the Dell XPS 420. The set up is really sweet. I’m running dual monitors, in which the 19 High deph monitor is sitting on top of the base to my sound system. Its really cool! I can’t wait to get some editing software so i can start creating things again. First on the list is a t-shirt for my dad, it was one of the contingencies of getting the money early, thanks mom and dad

Evolution vs. Creation

I just finished watching the colbert report, and I was intruiged by the guest on his show. His guest was the author of “Just a Thoery”, and in his book he discusses why evolution should be taught in school. I could argue for the exsitance of, or at least the possibility of a God or creator, However I completly agree with this author.

Through all of the materials i have read, documentaries I have watched, and deep conversation i have had; I have come to the conclusion that it would be wrong to teach creation in a sceince class. I do think that there could possibly be room for discussion of such topics, although Im not sure I can say it should be taught. I also think that there could be an argument for weather or not evolution should be the standared for science classes.

My point is simply that I do not find my views of a possible creator, to be very scientific. My faith, and why I choose to beleive in a potential creator, is more of a journey through philosophy, and history rather than a scientific exploration. I know that there is a realm of sciene that can be found within the argument for a creator, but I don’t choose to follow the way of Jesus beasue 4 + 6 + bread + jews + wine = evideince for jesus. I choose to follow His teachings because of what they mean in a philisophical sence. His teaching of empowering the weak is selfles, countercultural, and the pnical of true human fullfilment. Jesus also taught a lot about a creator more powerfull than any god, and a kingdom bigger than anythign earthly. I do not belive that kids should hear about this kingdom in a class room, where it would be deliverd in a “scientfic” way or a with a formula. This message is our responsiility to pass, it is our tradition to uphold. Its about time to stop trying to get other people (teachers, politicians, organizations, car bummpers, billboards, Tracts) to share the lifestyle that comes from following the teachings of Jesus. We are the ordained, the chossen, the blessed to be a blessing!

Astonashing hypothesis

I am reading a really intruiging book right now called the Astonashing Hypothesis. In the book, Fransis Crick, talkes about the scientific search for the soul. This book has been a breath of fresh air compared to all of hte spiritual books i have been forced to read over the past four years. I have been looking for a book that would actually throw out some tough questions in relation to the exsistence of a God, and our american cultures lust for an easy simple solution to the wonders of the world. Crick holds nothing back when he talks about religon and rightfully so. He is frustrated with many of the same things i am frustrated with about christians and american religon.

Christians use God as a solve all for every problem and assert their answer like it is the endall. “The world was created by God, we where made in his image, which means evolution does not exsist, the bible says so!” – bible thumper billy. It is no wonder why scientists look at the issue of ineligent design and are immediatly disgusted. The model they have to look at are a bunch of un-educated, bible enthusiasts who take the bible WAY to literaly.

As christians we have failed! Instead of aprouching the subject of God with eyes and ears open, we have substituted a faith that comforts us with a blanket of false security and easy cheap answers. Why?

The search for truth is hard…

lonely…

stressfull…

but crucial!

Having faith to curb a state of lonliness is not enough. Having faith as an easy answer to tough questions is simply not enough. In order to surrender we must first fight.

The Green Screen

Today was my first day filming for Church Media Design TV (A podcast for the church designer). This was my first time filming, and i can already tell that I am going to love it! I am a visual thinker and learner. When I am thinking of a subject I see it in 3D. It has been a hidden gift i have had since i was a kid. I never quite understood, nor reaized its significance til recent events. When I was young I would partner objects with pictures. When i heard the word “stupid” I would literaly see three brown sticks pilled on top of each other on a whight backdrop. The word dumb was a green circle some times and a green blob others. My favorite was the word “Swear words”, which i called square words, not becasue i was mistaken but becasue i saw a grouping of different color squares. You can imagine my disapointment when I realized it was “swear” words.

 

Learning that i am dyslexic has helped me remember this and also allowed me to realize that i do this with everything. I do not process information like a computer. When i hear a word I immediatly see that word as a picture than i process the picture. I have started to realize how much i do this, like when someone is speakign i will randomly draw the pictures i am seeing in my head. If you where to take a look at my notes you would think that I was doodling and screwing off, however i was actually writing down visual notes that I will remember latter. When i open my journal and look at the picture it brings me right back to the conversation.

 

This is why the world of Design fits so well with who i am. I want to share the pictures with other people. I have a gift of seeing things differently, and I want to share that! I just wish someone with a lot of money would buy me a computer capable of runnign good softwear, haha! but seriously. It would be nice if there was some way that people with a design eye could get a hold fo equipment to share there gift with the world.

Wal-mart

Yes it is true i am officialy a second shift worker at wal-mart. Pleas hold back the auto-graphs, I am just a normal person. It has been a month since i last posted and much has changed since then.

-Maggie ran away four days ago, and im sure this time its for good!

-I have several new bikes, that are currently getting rained on!

-I have no clue what my future holds. (please don’t say anything about how god has a plan, this is a cheesy christian saying free zone)

     I can’t think of much more, im just living the life of a drifter!

 

Resignation

I am writing my resignation, and it is the best paper i have ever been able to wright! I will post it once I’m finished, and it will be good. I feel like i could write a book right now, but i suck way to much at grammar and spelling!!
